In order to understand how to communicate to a conscience we have to get to The Heart Of the Matter, which is to understand biblically what your heart is, or Matters Of the Heart. Beyond defining our hearts, comes taking care of our hearts, as it is said in Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart diligently, for from it flow the springs of life.” ESV

In the same way we have rampant heart disease in our society with our physical hearts from not caring for ourselves as we ought, there is spiritual heart disease. Spiritually we need a heart healthy diet. To understand an introduction to this subject, click the link below for a complimentary copy of Chapter One of Straight To the Heart.

Straight to the Heart Workbook Ch 1

The Bible is filled with principles that teach us how to communicate well. These can be summed up from Proverbs 25:11 “A word rightly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” LITV Closer to the meaning of the Hebrew is the International Standard Version which renders rightly “at the right time.”

STTH Biblical Communication Skills

Taking a structure of communication skills from the field of addiction may seem odd at first. But as many have experienced, one of the core difficulties of communicating to someone with an addiction is denial. This is actually the status of mankind apart from the intervention of God. Romans Chapter 1 presents a catalogue of mankind apart from God and what comes out of that broken relationship.

And everything listed in Romans 1 is dependent upon this starting point: For since the creation of the world God’s invisible attributes—his eternal power and divine nature—have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse. v 20 ISV. Romans 1 is based on denial, and the communicating to a person through an addiction, those skills apply no matter what the denial is about. These are all taught in Straight To the Heart with role playing, skills development, content and interaction to give you the skills to communicate Timeless Truth In Truth-less Times.
